Key Stage 4
At KS4 all students study a core curriculum of English language, English literature, maths, science, religious education (taught as philosophy and ethics) and physical education.Students make GCSE choices in the spring term of Y9. The English Baccalaureate is available to all students though not enforced. In order to ensure breadth to their studies, each student must choose one option from a list of computer science, history, geography, triple science, French and German. They then make 2 further open choices from a wide selection of subjects (below).
Students have the option to study vocational courses alongside GCSE’s. A small number of students follow courses in partnership with high quality external providers. A number of optional enrichment subjects are offered at KS4 in order to add challenge and further breadth for students. These subjects change based on curriculum availability but currently include computer science, further mathematics, higher project qualification, sports leader award and young enterprise.
