City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 14th December 2018

Yesterday was a very exciting day. The Year 10 football team victoriously made it through to the last 32 of the English Schools Cup winning to Thurston Community College; this is a fantastic achievement and the boys conducted themselves well and played with passion and pride. This was followed by a fantastic evening of Performing Arts with over 100 students involved in music, drama and dance. Well done to all students and colleagues involved, especially Mr Pratt and Miss Cook, in these wonderful achievements.

This week has been House Award Assemblies and it has been a pleasure to watch so many students rewarded for their hard work and progress. An award that I value is the Resilience Cup which is awarded to students who have faced personal adversity. The House system and teams ensure students facing difficulties, receive the support they require to be able to cope with the challenges life can throw at them.

We will begin term with uniform and equipment checks as by the end of term there is wear and tear on both and we appreciate your support in ensuring your child has the correct uniform and equipment to be ready for learning in the new term.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and communication with the school this term. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy time with your children and families, and I look forward to welcoming students back to school on January 3rd for the start of term.
