Headteacher's Message, Friday 25th January 2019
Last night we hosted a very busy and productive Year 9 parents consultation evening. The conversations were forward looking with many students and parents asking questions about the GCSE preferences process. More information will be forthcoming regarding the process, with a series of subject assemblies followed by a Preferences Evening on March 21st. I always welcome the opportunity at Parents' Evenings to listen to and speak with families as well as receive feedback via the questionnaires.
We have all been concerned by the recent information regarding students being approached on their way home from school in the local areas. The safety and security of all our students is our number one priority and we are treating this with the utmost seriousness. Those involved behaved responsibly by not speaking to the adults involved and reported it to their parents and subsequently the police. These incidents are rare but alarming when they occur, and so we would encourage students to speak with any member of staff should they be concerned or have information we can relay to the police. Without registration numbers and descriptions, the police cannot move their investigation forward and I request that any such information is communicated directly to the police.
I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned; I am looking forward to relaxing with family and friends.
