Headteacher's Message, Friday 8th March 2019
On Wednesday we held a whole school Guidance Day with a focus on careers education and PSHE and Year 11 completed English and maths mock examinations. Students received a varied diet of information and activity based on their year group and student and visitor feedback has been wonderful. I am particularly grateful to our former students (Alumni) who gave their time to share their employment experiences and inspire students in future career paths. Mr Akroyd, Mrs Tillyard and Ms Cator all worked incredibly hard in making the day a success and I would like to publicly express my thanks to them.
Guidance Day shows how we value life and employability skills as part of our students’ education. Wearing the correct uniform, being punctual, having the correct equipment and completing homework are part of students being ready for learning as well as preparing students for life after school. Thank you for supporting the uniform expectations at home, students have been looking noticeably smarter. We will be continuing with checks and follow up next week and students who meet all expectations on a weekly basis student are rewarded with well-deserved extra positives.
I am looking forward to visiting my sons at university this weekend and I hope you have a lovely weekend and half term whatever you have planned.
