Norfolk Scholars Programme
Huge congratulations to Alexander, Harry, Elia, Maya, Oskar & Richard for their participation in the Norfolk Scholars Programme. We are immensely proud of how all our Year13 Scholars have represented CNS Sixth Form throughout this 2 year programme.
Attending UEA workshops and one to one and group mentoring sessions, the programme culminated in a 3 day residential at Villiers Park in Cambridge, where they were rightly rewarded for all their efforts with a trip to see The Lion King in London. Alexander (applying to Cambridge to study Archaeology) summed up the residential as follows:
The residential was incredibly informative and interesting! The main teaching point of the whole residential revolved around employability which involved making pitches, networking skills, being able to talk about ourselves professionally such as talking about our work in certain fields and our personal skills and attributes with reference to evidence behind them.
We engaged in a lot of different activities like a sample networking event and a mock job interview on the final day which we’ll be receiving feedback for in written format soon. We were able to see the lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in London which was thoroughly enjoyable for everyone.
We would also like to extend out thanks to Carrie Tooke, this year’s Year 13 Mentor, for all her hard work in supporting our students. She said “Out of all the residentials I’ve been on, I’d definitely say it was the best one & they all engaged really well.”
Well done everyone!
