Tender Healthy Relationships Project
On the 14th and 15th May, eighteen Year 9 and Year 10 CNS students took part in the Tender Healthy Relationships Project. The two day engaging, drama based programme helps to empower students with the skills and confidence to build positive, respectful relationships with others and to consider their attitudes and behaviour in a safe, age appropriate way.
Tender is an arts and education charity working with young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence. Their aim is to promote healthy relationships based on equality and respect, and to raise awareness of unhealthy or abusive behaviour in their current and future relationships.
During the two days, the students explored various elements such as the importance of equality and respect, understanding personal boundaries and consent and increasing self-confidence and empathy for others.
The culmination of the project was a presentation by the students which provided an opportunity for them to increase their peer mentoring and presentation skills, and share key messages.
