FAQs
I'd like to take my child out of school for a holiday. Could I have a holiday form?
Whilst the school does not encourage parents to take students on holiday during term time we acknowledge that there may be circumstances which make this unavoidable. Absence for family holidays during term time is authorised at the school's discretion for a maximum of up to 10 days per academic year for students who have an excellent attendance record.
The school will consider the following points before authorising leave:
The student's previous attendance history
The student's age
The student's stage of education
The time of year when the absence will occur and its impact on exams, modules, coursework, or controlled assessments
The nature of the trip (an exceptional experience)
Whether parents are restricted in terms of leave from their employer
Holiday forms are available either here or from the Key Stage offices. The form should be completed by a parent/carer and returned to the student's form tutor. Students wishing to apply for holiday absence should submit their form well in advance of the planned departure date.
If you don’t find an answer to your question, please contact the main office.
