Initial teacher training at CNS

CNS is proud to have strong partnerships with a range of local teacher training institutions and to take an active role in supporting the training and development of trainee teachers from across the region.  We work closely with the PGCE at the University of East Anglia, with the Norfolk Teacher Training Centre based at City College Norwich, and with Suffolk and Norfolk SCITT- to become NESTT Norfolk Essex Suffolk Teacher Training from September 24. From September 2021 we have also worked with OAKS Norfolk, a local hub as part of the Ormiston and Keele University SCITT and look forward to continue to work with this provider as they move to becoming Ormiston Teacher Training in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching-NIoT.

Trainees at CNS take part in a bespoke programme of CPD tailored for trainee teachers, and each year we host training placements for 10-15 developing teachers at the start of their career.

We have a strong team of experienced mentors in all faculties who support our trainee teachers, and our staff are regularly involved in leading professional development sessions as part of the local and regional teacher training programmes.
