City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 10th September 2021

It has been an incredibly special start to the term with the wider reopening of CNS.  Whilst we maintain Covid safety measures, staff and students are benefitting from being in specialist spaces, with a regular form time and one-hour lessons. The staggered start has helped familiarise students with school routines and expectations.  These will be reinforced daily and we appreciate your support particularly with the correct uniform and punctuality.

It was wonderful to welcome Year 7 parents to a welcome event last night, and the balmy September evening allowed us to hold most of it outdoors.  Next week we welcome Year 12 and Year 10 parents to Information Evenings; please register with Eventbrite to avoid any sessions being too busy.

Today we are hosting the grand opening of the Elkins Centre. The new sixth form block is being named in honour of CNS’s longest-serving headteacher Dr Elkins and we are welcoming back many former staff to the event. We are also open tomorrow for Heritage Day and if you wish to come and see CNS and view the archive, we are open 10-3pm.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and is looking forward to the term ahead as much as I am.
