Headteacher's Message, Friday 13th May 2022

Last night colleagues and students past and present came together to celebrate the life of Nick Stone at Christ Church. The memorial service was filled with wonderful tributes to our former colleague, with Nick’s family in attendance. I would like to say a very public thank you to Reverend Richmond and Caroline Gibbs, both CNS parents, for their welcome, kindness and hospitality to their beautiful church.

Well done Year 11 on organising a fund-raising day for Prom today; students really enjoyed wearing their ‘comfy’ clothes. We have noticed a significant improvement in school uniform this term, thank you for your support with this. Many parents are informing us that the change to unbranded shorts, skirts and trousers is a reason for this. With the cost-of-living crisis impacting families, please do let house teams know if there are challenges at home, in order that we can support or signpost support. If family income has fallen into the threshold for free school meals, please complete the form which can be found here: https://cns.greenschoolsonline.co.uk/Parents/Free-School-Meals/.

Year 10 has been gearing up for their end-of-year examinations with study skills and subject assemblies this week. They have been attentive and mature throughout each event and I am impressed by the seriousness with which they are taking these important assessments. Year 11 begin their exams on Monday and I wish them good fortune and very best wishes for the forthcoming weeks. They have worked incredibly hard and these last few weeks require a final push to reward all their efforts.

I hope you have an enjoyable weekend in the spring sunshine.
