City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 14th January 2022

This has been a very positive week with routines resuming and the CNS community continuing to support one another. Despite this we continue to adjust to a CNS without Nick Stone and the tributes paid this week have been so kind and of great comfort to his family and friends. The funeral will take place at Nick’s family home in Wisbech on February 4th, following this we will plan a memorial service to be held in Norwich later this term.

Year 13 are currently undertaking their end-of-semester exams and their attitudes towards these are exemplary. University offers are coming thick and fast and it is an exciting time for the students who are planning their next steps. We are seeing a significant increase in apprenticeship offers both with and without degrees. My youngest son has followed this route working for JP Morgan with a degree from Exeter and is thriving in the workplace with no university fees. It is wonderful to see options widening for young people who are able to learn and grow in differing environments.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and keeps safe and warm.
