City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 16th September 2022

It has continued to be an excellent start to term for all members of the CNS community and I am impressed by Year 7 & new Year 12 students as they learn to navigate their way around the site. We have added some additional changes to the one-way system for the safety of everyone; this will take a little while to remember but it is making a vast difference to movement around the main building. The final set of toilets will be finished for next week, increasing the availability of facilities across the site. Students are very positive about the changes we have made over the summer, including decorating classrooms and new matting in all entrances. There are many more less visible changes that took place across the summer months to improve the environment at CNS for all students and staff. We are a large campus with a mix of old and new buildings, all of which require a huge amount of upkeep. I am grateful to our site and IT teams who worked throughout the summer, and to Ormiston Academy Trust for their continued investment in our facilities at CNS.

It has been lovely to welcome parents and carers of Years 7, 10 & 12 to CNS this term for information evenings. It is an important part of the CNS home school relationship that we can regularly come together for sharing of information. Parents’ evenings will remain online this year due to their popularity and we will complement this with a range of parent information evenings relevant to the year group of your child; I hope you will join us for as many of these events as possible.

School will be closed to everyone on Monday due to the Bank Holiday to mark the funeral of Queen Elizabeth.
