City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 18th November 2022

It has been another busy week, with all students back to their regular timetable after exams and trips. Our social media has been very busy sharing the celebrations of our students in words and images. If you don’t already follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram you can find us here:

Last night we celebrated the achievements of our Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Class of 2022 with over 150 invitations sent for Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. The achievements of our students show determination and resilience. I am always overwhelmed by the significant volunteering hours the students accrue and the contribution this makes to the community. Our guest speaker Darren Eadie from Norwich City Football Club was inspirational, and I am grateful to the club for supporting the school through our new partnership with them.

It is important to me that the school is a community school and that we welcome a range of activities and meetings from across the region. This week has been no exception with us being a hub of Ormiston activity, with safeguarding and subject conferences all taking place on site. Today we have welcomed the Regional School Commissioner Jonathan Duff who came to visit CNS and attend a DfE meeting hosted here. All visitors have been complimentary of the warm welcome they receive and the politeness and enthusiasm of our students.

A polite reminder that we are closed next Friday for the Ormiston training day. I am looking forward to a quiet weekend after a busy week.  I hope you have a good weekend too.
