CNS retains Career Mark Award

CNS is delighted to announce that is has retained the national Quality in Careers Standard Career Mark Award in recognition of the outstanding careers education, information, advice and guidance it delivers for students.

The Career Mark assesses the career and work-related programmes offered by schools and awards those that can demonstrate good progress against the Gatsby benchmarks of Good Careers Guidance.

The work leading to the assessment was prepared by the school’s careers lead, Natalie Pentney, who is responsible for the delivery of the careers and work experience programme and who, alongside Assistant Headteacher and Director of Curriculum Support, Nick Williams, works to ensure that the school builds supportive relationships with learners, delivering help and support to them when needed.

In the report the assessor Emma Padmore stated that she was impressed by the passion, knowledge and organisational skills of the careers lead and is confident that she will continue to work in partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the careers programme at the school meets, not only the statutory requirements, but goes above and beyond to support all learners at the school.

She said “Congratulations on achieving the Quality in Careers Standard which fully incorporates the Gatsby Benchmarks. This is an excellent achievement and recognises the quality and breadth of your careers provision”.
