Exam Results 2023

On Thursday 24th August 2023, students at City of Norwich School celebrated with staff after receiving their GCSE results.

Everyone came together to mark the achievements of all the students, who had worked exceptionally hard over the past couple of years to secure these grades. Students across the Year 11 cohort performed particularly well in Physics, Biology & History.

Alongside the continued success of the academy, which is sponsored by Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), some particular individual highlights include:

  • Kumi Stevens who successfully achieved seven Grade 9s and two Grade 8s. This is alongside her contribution to the CNS music community where she has been part of the school orchestra and numerous ensemble groups in her time at the school.
  • Luke Chittenden who successfully achieved six Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Grade 7, and Zach Conway who successfully achieved six Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and one Grade 6. Both Luke and Zach are among our highest achievers in Year 11.
  • Harvey Reynolds achieved great results in all seven of his GCSEs despite facing significant medical challenges across his GCSE courses.
  • Lola Howard, Isabelle Blackburn, Alexander Zorlu and Rose Dilks also made excellent progress in their GCSEs, achieving six Grade 9s, eighteen Grade 8s, eight Grade 7s and three Grade 6s between them.

Jo Philpott, Headteacher at City of Norwich School said:

“These are a brilliant and well-deserved set of results for the class of 2023 who showed determination, hard work and resilience in their exams this year.  There are many individual stories of success but what stands out for this year group is their collective support of one another and the delight shown today in receiving their results. I wish each student well in their next steps and look forward to welcoming many of them back to CNS Sixth Form.

“I would like to thank our excellent teachers and support staff who have taught and guided the Class of 2023 through their school journey. My thanks also go to our parents and carers for their support throughout the students’ time at CNS and hope they enjoy their family celebrations today”.
