Last night we opened our doors to current and prospective parents for our Year 6 Open Evening. The night was incredibly well attended and allowed us to showcase everything that is fantastic about CNS. The displays and books available to see were typical of the work our students produce on a daily basis inspired by the subject passion of our teachers.
Relationships between staff and students were evident in every room where they worked together as teams, speaking with Y6 and many Y5 students from primary schools in Norwich. I must single out the tour guides, of whom we received many compliments, as they shared their own school experiences and gave real insight into life at CNS.
In the auditorium Mrs Tillyard, Head Students, Y8’s Idabel and Wilf and I spoke with families about the ethos and values of CNS. The talks emphasised our broad and balanced curriculum, nurturing confidence and happiness, high academic standards and maintaining family values underpinned by a child centred approach to all we do. There is no doubt that these messages were echoed throughout the school by staff and students alike.
Today is Guidance Day with students from all year groups involved in a range of activities from Oxbridge interviews to road safety sessions, anti-bullying talks and careers guidance talks. These days are an essential part of student learning and an example of the broader curriculum I refer to in my previous paragraph.
I am looking forward to a restful weekend after such a busy and exciting week. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
