City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 8th February 2019

A large portion of my week has been spent with other Headteachers from Ormiston and from Norwich Opportunity Area; I find such meetings very valuable as they are opportunities to share best practice and discuss solutions.

The focus of yesterday’s Ormiston meeting was challenging our most able students across the Trust and promoting good literacy. CNS is the highest performing Ormiston school for high prior attaining students, and I have been using my twitter account this week to promote examples of high attaining student work. If you haven’t had an opportunity to look yet, please do as the quality is quite astonishing and demonstrates the pride and curiosity so many of our students take in their work.

CNS also recognises the importance of co-curricular learning to enhance classroom experience and colleagues work tirelessly to provide regular activities and trips at home and abroad; last week and next there are visits to UEA, Cambridge, Berlin and Russia involving multiple year groups and subject areas. All of this gives me such pride to be part of the wonderful CNS community.

I hope you have a lovely weekend whatever you have planned.
