City of Norwich School

Headteacher's Message, Friday 1st October 2021

It has been another excellent week at CNS and last night’s Open Evening was a huge success with staff and students relishing the opportunity to showcase the school. Our student ambassadors were amazing and a credit to the school and themselves. Many parents talked to me about how impressive and confident they were and immensely proud to be part of the CNS community.  It was also wonderful to hear music playing across the school; many thanks to our sixth form musicians and Key Stage 3 music scholars who created a wonderful atmosphere.

This week we welcomed education charity Talk the Talk to work with our students developing oracy skills. The students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience different speaking, listening and communication skills and I am grateful to Ormiston Academy Trust for giving us this excellent opportunity.

As Autumn settles in we are seeing the weather turn cooler.  I encourage families to purchase CNS jumpers or hoodies to keep students warm as students will not be allowed to wear alternative outdoor clothing.

I am looking forward to a weekend with family after such a busy and exciting week. I hope you have a good weekend and enjoy whatever you have planned.
