Headteacher's Message, Friday 25th February 2022
I hope everyone had a lovely half term break. Staff and students have returned rested with Year 11 preparing for the next set of pre-public exams ahead of the summer examinations. Schools have not held public exams since 2019 and the experience is not only new for students but also for teachers new to the profession. This has reminded me of how critical the final weeks of teaching are ahead of examinations and how much reassurance and confidence students need at what can be an anxious time. To support parents who are managing the emotions of this at home, we will be hosting parent information evenings on how to support your child through their exams. More information will follow soon.
The spring bulbs planted by all students are beginning to emerge and I am enjoying being able to drive to work in the emerging light. As we return to a more ‘normal’ school experience for all members of the CNS community, I am looking forward to a half term of increased co-curricular activity, students being able to meet in House assemblies, the school production, and parent information evenings.
And all against the backdrop of emerging spring! Have a lovely weekend everyone.
